Common questions

Everything you need to know.

Do I need a piano at home before starting? +
Yes — but don't let that stop you from getting started. Come for your free interview first and we'll go from there. I'll guide you toward the right instrument for your budget. A quality digital keyboard starts around $300–400 and is completely sufficient for beginners.
What ages do you teach? +
I teach students of all ages — from children as young as 5 all the way through adults. It is truly never too late to start piano. Many of my most enthusiastic students began as adults with zero prior experience.
What styles of music do you teach? +
Classical, pop, jazz, film scores, hymns, musical theatre — and ukulele too. I believe students learn fastest when they're playing music they love. We'll always balance building solid technique with repertoire that genuinely excites you.
How do I book you for a wedding or event? +
Fill out the contact form above with your event date, venue, and any song requests. I'll get back to you within 24 hours to discuss details and availability. I serve Osceola, South Bend, Mishawaka, and surrounding areas in Northern Indiana.
What is your lesson cancellation policy? +
Full details on absences, makeups, and cancellations can be found on the Lessons & Policies page.
Do you offer ukulele lessons as well? +
Yes! Ukulele lessons are available alongside piano. It's a wonderful first instrument for younger students or a fun complement for existing piano students who want to explore something new.
How often are lessons held? +
Lessons are held once per week at a consistent time. This regular schedule is the best way to build skills steadily over time. The Fall 2026 semester runs August 24 – December 11 with 15 scheduled lesson weeks.
What books or materials will we need? +
Haley will recommend the right method books based on the student's age and level. Most are available on Amazon and represent a modest one-time cost. She'll let you know exactly what to purchase before the first lesson.
Are lessons in-person or online? +
Please contact Haley directly to discuss current lesson format options and availability in your area. Use the contact form above or reach out via phone or email.
